There’s good news and bad news
There’s good news and bad news. The good news is, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 is releasing. The release date is now set for October 21st, 2025. The bad news is that two clans will be locked behind a paywall as DLC. Yep, you read that right folks. In fact, that’s not all that will be locked behind a paywall. Bloodlines 2 comes in three different flavors. Standard, Deluxe, and Premium. Standard being $59.99, Deluxe is $69.99, and the Premium Edition comes in at a staggering $89.99. But hey, Pre-Order now and you’ll get an in-game nostalgia Jukebox loaded with tracks by Rik Schaffer. Don’t get me wrong, Rik Schaffer is a great composer, but this would be a little more exciting if it were not for so much being locked behind a paywall.
“I will not be Pre-Ordering or buying the Premium Edition. I’ll be opting for the Standard. I refuse to pay $30 more for basic content that should be included with the game at release“

This is a big disappointment for fans who have been eagerly awaiting Bloodlines 2 since its announcement back in 2019. Heck, I’d argue that some of us, like myself, have been waiting ever since the original Bloodlines released back in 2004. But I digress. Bloodlines 2 has gone through various states since its announcement in 2019. Paradox has delayed the game a few times and has gone through a complete developer change. The game switched from Hardsuit Labs to The Chinese Room. I personally started to give up on the release. It has become quite common for games to never see the light of day. I’m glad it is finally coming out, but I will not be Pre-Ordering or buying the Premium Edition. I’ll be opting for the Standard. I refuse to pay $30 more for basic content that should be included with the game at release.
Let us know what you think. Are you still excited about the game now that it has a firm release date? How do you feel about the multiple editions and content being locked behind a paywall? Are you going to Pre-Order the game? Sound off in the comments.
